Eagle & Hare / Crab & Fish
Akragas (Sicily) - Hemidrachm (5⁄2 Litra)

Description
Obverse: Eagle standing left, wings spread and head lowered, tearing at dead hare held in its talons.; AKPA
Reverse: Crab; below, fish left; all within shallow circular incuse.
A simply spectacular coin, with an incredibly detailed eagle tearing apart the hare. This is an extremely common symbol on the coinage of Akragas as the heavily assosciated themselves with Zeus, and it has appeared on everything from their litra to their tetrdrachms. A record number of animals (4) on this coin as well, all incredibly detailed.
