Description
Obverse: Head of nymph left, wearing ampyx, sphendone, earring and a simple necklace; in field to left, six pellets (mark of value)
Reverse: Six pellets in two rows (mark of value), all within a laurel wreath with ties
A typical bronze hemilitron of Himera struck shortly before the city's destruction by the Carthaginians in 409 BC. The six pellets denote the coin's value of ½ litra.
